We had our first ever Guitar Hero Party last weekend!  It was a blast.  I invited a couple friends from work and my sorority sisters and their spouses to come over and play video games with us.  And to my delite, my folks decided to come down that weekend as well.  They got to meet my friends and kidnapped my kids (and my friend Melissa’s son Hunter) while the adults played.

So-here’s what the game looks like on the screen if you haven’t been to a Best Buy in the last year.

We set up the night with a free play time from 6:30 – 9:00 since most of our friends had not played as often as we have – so practice time.

At 9:00 we started a double elimination tournament and started the face-off play.

We even had groupies for part of the night!

Playoff for first place

Melissa & I played in the final play-offs (it should have been Paul, but I asked him to fluff off since he plays on hard and we were all playing on easy!)

Melissa won 1st place and got a “Hand” and some other silly gifts. (Thanks Dad for helping me pick them out!)

Courtney had the lowest score overall, so she got the “Booby” prize!

It was a lot of fun to be a kid again for an evening!

    Fun! We play SingStar with our friends a lot, mostly because I don’t have the hand/eye coordination for GuitarHero, but I’ve never bought prizes before. I should do that!!!! Great idea. And you should check out the SingStar sometime (its better with margaritas I’ve found).

    Yeah Julie!!  It’s so nice to hear from you.  I will definately look into SingStar. We do have karaoke on our cable, but we don’t do it very often. I always forget what channel it is! And everything is better with margaritas!
