Belated Birthday to Me!

For my birthday this year my terrifically awesome husband got me the best present EVER!!  A surprise party!!!

He did an exceptionally excellent job of keeping it a secret.  There was only one little blip about an item on our credit card (where I asked him what the charge the party location was for) and he covered that with a great little fib that he didn’t know, but he would find out.  He even got the manager of the location to write him a note saying she was checking into the charge!

He set it up at a bar on the Riverwalk called Pat O’Brien’s where we have gone a few times.  He even had a good cover to get me to go in – He said he had to just slip in for a minute to sign something for the manager so we could get credit on our credit card back.  Very slick of him letting it slip that we had been misbilled.  We showed up (a little late) and there were all my friends and co-workers to surprise me!!

It was a great night!  We had a wonderful dinner in a private room upstairs (crawfish etouffee and a vegetable pasta + the most amazing cheesecake with Huricane sauce!)  Did I mention that Pat O’Brien’s has the best Huricane drinks?  They are superb.  The room had a private balcony that overlooked the live bank area, so we were able to sit outside for a while after dinner and enjoy the night.

After Pat O’Brien’s we went to Polyester’s night club and danced to the 80’s and 90’s music.  Every song they played I knew, so we had a blast.

Thank you my sweet, sweet honey!  You did Gooooood!

Looks like GREAT fun!! What an excellent coordinator your hubby is! And are these your new coworkers, I presume? That’s good to get involved relatively early.

    NICE! & Happy Birthday Again!!

Thank you for the Birthday wishes! I guess I’m officially over the hill. Paul said the E-vite he sent said I was celebrating my 29th birthday (for the seventh time). He could have left that last part off!

  7. Paul Says:

Not in a million years would I have left that part off the invite!!!!!!!!!:)

I’ve looked at this picture a hundred times, because I come here often to see if you’ve done a new posting. It’s lovely, and you can definitely tell that the good times were rolling. But there was something that bugged me about it. I finally figured out what it is. The two people in the center are not the two people who are the center of attention! I think because your friends (the tall guy with a beard and his short wife) are facing each other right in the center, it looks like it was their party. HA!

    :)

I’ve thought the same thing, Deanne!!

I agree, my friends, like my life are apparently a bit lopsided!
