Whirlwind Weekend
My parents came down to see the grandkids for the weekend. They got here Friday afternoon and we went to watch Declan at his Karate practice. Then it was off to Brittney’s Volleyball game followed by take out from Henry’s Puffy Tacos.
Saturday we got up early to go to the Grand Opening of Kohl’s and do some shopping. We were done around 9am and took Brittney to Sylvan to work on her math. The we spent some time cleaning up the garage (only because we were looking for the tire pump so we could go for a bike ride) Mom and Dad and Declan went for a bike ride and Paul and I finally took down the tent in the back yard. After Brit was done we went to Declan’s soccer game. I went to have my tire put back on the truck. And we finally came home for a nice pot roast dinner (thank goodnes for the crock pot!!)
Sunday we went to Mass, then went to eat at a great Mexican restarant I like. We stopped at Sears on the way home and picked up a garage door opener. When we got back to the house I helped Dad install a vent on the top of our garage. (Well, when I say helped, I got him the tools he needed and waited for orders.) We got that finished and while he read the directions for the garage door opener, Mom, me and Declan went to the swimming pool for a dip. Then home and to bed.
Mom and Dad stayed for a few extra hours on Monday to install the garage door opener (Thank you soooo much!!) Then they took off into the sunset for more adventures. Dad called me on Tuesday evening. They had driven east from our house and ended up in New Orleans. They were staying a couple of blocks off Bourbon Street the last I heard, so I am sure they are having a great time!
We got an awful lot done, but I need a long weekend to recouperate!!
