First project
Ok, I made my decision and the first project is going to be to re arange the office so it works better. I will start after I take the cats to the vet for their shots and have Galen checked out. She has been throwing up quite a bit lately.
here is the before and after drawings for the room. I would post a picture, but we are still sorting out the left over junk.

This is the before drawing where the bed pretty much takes up the whole room.

This is the after drawing. Yes those two long rectangles in the closet is the bed. I tried really hard to convince Paul to let me get a murphy bed, but he was not enthused….sigh…

So, you’re putting the bed in the closet? What about the closet doors? I can’t wait to see a picture!
So when we visit, one of us can sleep on the bed in the closet and the rest of us can line up in sleeping bags on the floor… Wait, is it a double or a twin?
When we bought ikea furniture for Susana’s room, I worked out a grid system in powerpoint to precisely (or close enough) measure whether and how the stuff would fit. In that case, of course, we wanted to be sure we didn’t get it home and it wouldn’t fit.
I like that murphy bed idea… maybe I’ll find a spot for one and you can come over and try it out!

Hmmm… $2k for a bed… I may have to reconsider…

Hence the fact that Paul was not enthusiastic about the Murphy bed. If I could actually get one, I want a Parker Library System (http://www.murphybedsdirect.com/library.htm) Which is a bed behind bookshelves that slide apart to fold out the bed. It is really cool, but stupidly expensive.
And actually, my parents are coming to visit tomorrow, so I have taken the bed out of the closet for the first time and it actually fits in the aloted space (whew) Now I just have to actually get all of the stuff that is still lying around picked up.
Oh, you asked about the closet doors – they were removed when this was Brittney’s room and are being stored in the top of the garage. There are just curtains that cover up the closet entrance. (All of our closets have actual doors, and since this was a double wide closet, the doors prevented anything from being withing three feet of the opening, so they had to go)

Ah-ha. I get it. I hope you have a lovely time with your folks!
