My Little Friend

two penguins are always better than one.

This is the cute little penguin candy dispenser I bought at Hallmark after Christmas (75% off Mom!!) And the lovely large penguin cookie jar I got for Christmas!

Heartless little birds

You are supposed to open him up and fill him with candy.

good Penguin

Then after you put his head back on, you push him down and he “Poops” out the candy.  So we tried filling him with Boston Baked Beans, because, well, they are fairly small and let’s face it they kinda look like little poop pellets.

penguin poop

But, alas, the boston baked beans were to large and constipated the smaller bird.  But in the process of trying to make the beans work, Brittney told Declan that “yes, it was actually penguin poop”  and of course I had to back her up.  So he walks around asking for some penguin poop to eat occasionally, which is very funny to me, but will probably be at least a couple of sessions of therapy for the child when he grows up.

constipated penguin

So then we tried lemon heads, but they to alas have constipated the penguin.  We have unclogged him, but I am at a loss for what kind of candy he can dispense.  Any suggestions???

*sorry about the length of this entry, but it just would have taken longer to describe it in words!

  2. Lauren Says:

Have you tried Red Hots? They’re a good candy, though they might burn his little behind on the way out.

  3. Chris Says:

I will have to try that, but I don’t enjoy really hot foods. As my parents can attest to, since the traveled all the way to Texas and we didn’t take them to one stinkin’ Mexican restuarant!

Maybe I could dispense them one by one and send them to you in the mail!

  4. Mom Says:

Have you tried the tiny easter eggs? They are really small. Probably aren’t out yet but should be soon.

  5. Chris Says:

I will try them (as soon as they are out) Of course then I will have to buy a set of little bunny ears to put on him. he, he, he.

I was going to suggest red hots too. Lauren put some next to my bed about a week ago (right on my night stand) and then started complaining that I was eating them before I went to bed. Isn’t that entrappment? Do I have any legal recourse?

  7. Chris Says:

If you leave a couple on her pillow everynight before she gets in bed, she will stop complaining. (probably because her mouth is full, but hey she’ll stop!!)

We found a candy that all in the family could agree on to fill the little penquin – they are sweet tart balls. They do not constipate the penguin, so I can finally take him to work where he was meant to be.

Hey, How is that little puppy you brought to the family reunion? Did it survive the long trip back after baking in the sun on the shore and swiming and all the food we snuck him off the Sommerer buffet?

  10. Chris Says:

The puppy is doing well, but he is a mischeivious thing. We are hoping he will calm down a bit here soon. But he is still really cute. He likes to tilt his head to the side and cock his ears. I will try to post a picture soon.

I have one of these and it came with a bag of Jelly Belly jelly beans. Works perfectly.

  12. Chris Says:

I’ll have to try those. Any suggestions on flavors?
